  • I devoured this book today. I absolutely loved it It reminded me a little of an interview with a vampire as for the 1st half of the book we are learning all of our information through an interview with our male main character Simon as Allie is learning all about her family and past she knew nothing about. This amazing exploration of her past goes through multiple povs that keep you fascinated and trying to guess at the mysteries. This book has witches, magic mystery, romance, and so much more. I can not wait for book 2!

  • Dragged on. The nightly conversations between the main characters were frustrating, like a paragraph of learning something then eating or kissing. There is a deadline counting down and you keep getting distracted by pizza and burgers? Name dropped characters without any explanation of who they were. Anne was referenced multiple times but I never knew who she was. Dangling plot points that weren’t resolved including the events that happened when she was 5 and 16, the pictures in the bedroom, etc. Maybe those will be addressed in book two?
